ONE Championship debutant Dante Leon believes featherweight MMA star Bruno Pucci would have had a completely different career if he stuck to his guns as a Brazilian jiu-jitsu (BJJ) competitor.
Before their lightweight submission grappling matchup at ONE Fight Night 26 on Friday, Dec. 6, Leon had this to say about 'Puccibull' in an interview with ONE:
"He's one of those guys that if he decided to just stick with jiu-jitsu, who knows? Maybe he could have been a guy who won world itles and things like that. But, he decided to go to MMA for whatever reason he chose. It looks like it's been successful for him."

When Pucci arrived in ONE in September 2013, he certainly had the skills to be a submission grappling megastar. However, the promotion was years away from holding its first-ever submission grappling rules bout.
Though his clash with Leon will be his first foray into the all-grappling ranks, Pucci will look to lean on his extensive MMA skills to earn the upset inside the Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.
Bruno Pucci hints at all-out aggression versus Dante Leon
Bruno Pucci plans to take many calculated risks to potentially spoil Dante Leon's promotional debut and end a three-fight losing skid at ONE Fight Night 26.
Speaking exclusively with ONE, the two-time IBJJF No-Gi World Champion stated:
"I like to scramble. I like to go for the finish. I try to finish. If possible, to do it fast. Sometimes it doesn't come or it doesn't go my way because once you try to attack, you can leave some opening behind. But, you know, I try to go forward, and I don't save too much."
ONE Fight Night 26 will air live and free to all Prime Video subscribers in the United States and Canada.
